Audxtreme™ Embraces Open-Source Efficiency
In a strategic move to optimize operations, Audxtreme™ announced on July 31, 2024, that it is migrating approximately 95% of its IT systems to a Linux-based distribution. This significant transition encompasses critical software applications, including daily financial accounting, office suites, audio production, and deejaying software.
Driven by the need to avoid costly hardware upgrades required for Microsoft’s newer operating systems, including the upcoming Windows 12, Audxtreme™ explored various Linux distributions before selecting Linux Mint as its preferred choice. This decision has enabled the company to install Libra Office and Mixxx deejaying software on all office computer systems and mobile kits, while also migrating financial accounting to the cloud.
Benchmarking tests have revealed impressive performance enhancements, with the Linux-based systems operating at high speeds while reducing CPU demand. Notably, this seamless transition was achieved at no additional cost to the business, thanks to the utilization of open-source software and in-house installation expertise.
By adopting this open-source solution, Audxtreme™ demonstrates its commitment to running its business efficiently and effectively, without compromising on performance or incurring unnecessary expenses. This strategic move positions the company for continued success and growth in the industry.
